Be sure the pour on you are using is effective against biting lice, not all are. Be sure it has not passed its expiration date nor been left in the barn during very hot or very cold weather which can also destroy its effectiveness. Try an insecticidal powder on his legs. Biting lice are very hard to kill as they don't suck enough blood for many pesticides to work well. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

I clout s him,which is a lice and tick pour on last 6 weeks did him suday night 2nights a go no difference. vet gave me B1 vitamine injection he thought he might have signs of polio .I gave 2ml injection last night and a gain today. I have now notice he is a little chesty , so gave him a long acting penacillian 7ml last 48hrs. |

Biting lice! They inhabit the legs and bite ferociously. They seem to bother my goats the worst in the winter too. Use a Delicer pouron or Pour on Ivermectin. Or you can use a powder or spray being sure to treat once a week for at least 3 weeks. Treat all of the goats... Drenching with ivermectin is not always effective for biting lice... rufus, is eating well, has being drench, noworms last week he just started running around and stamping his feet like a fly was biting him,its winter here in australia and no flys has gone on 4days now , any ideas would be appreciated. |
