Oh Maggie, why is my herd not happy?? They are on daily turnout with a run-in, goat mineral/vitamin, good hay, grain etc...Maybe I just pay too close attention and notice everything...I guess that's good. Anyway, I now have a nanny with a 5 day old kid( my favourite baby). They have been seperate from the herd since the birth and I wanted to put them out with the herd today. I noticed that the kid has one crusty eye. I took her temp and she is 103.1. Her mom has slightly (and I mean very slight) crusty eyes too. Should I just let it run it's course or give them something. Can I just give mom a shot of oxytet and the kid will get ti through the milk? I have put the triple antibiotic ointment in the kids eye as I figured it wouldn't hurt. |
