If they have full bellies then they are getting milk. Look very carefully at the end of the teat, if it has a black or brownish looking plug in it then the kids are not getting anything. Wagging tails is something they do when they suck it isn't an indicator of whether they are getting anything.

You need to try to milk properly, if you are pinching the teat then pulling down to see if you get anything you will not get anything but you will tick off the doe.

My doe kidded last night. The first one had his head stuck when I found she was delivering.The other 2 made it. My question is her teats are soft and I don't get milk when I try to milk her, but the kids are wagging their tails when they nurse, should I assume they are getting milk?
