Greetings,

Yes, sage has worked...for both my goats & myself.

You will also want to cut back on her feed.

Sometimes you may see a goat that is what some call a "Precocious Milker"..they will come to milk without ever having been bred,,,I have seen that in many of the does of this sort that they are getting more to eat than they really need....I have a Kiko doe that will milk (yes Kiko is a meat breed) two gal a day,,& she was a percocious milker as a kid,,,with her I take the kids, put her on dry lot give her sage tea and then hand milk her one time a day until she drys,,and even with this I may have to milk her out one or two times a month after she goes "dry" before she kids again because that is what she does with extra calories, she makes milk.

You said she is boss doe so we know she is going to get the big share on the food end & it sounds as if she is a Precocious Milker one of the other signs of this is that it tends to run in blood lines & as her daughter is the same way,,,,

Hope this helps
Bright blessings

No I didn't mean heat cycle , I meant to run her through a gestation period and raising her kids and then weaning .I guess the real question is do you think she will ever dry up . It has been 360 days since her kids have left and her udder has never gone away. I know some never dry up completely or shrink back to nothing . Maybe that is just the way she will remain. She did although dry up after her first kidding just not her second. Her daughter has never dried up either and she kidded a year ago as well. She is not as large as her mother and udder remains soft so I didn' want to interfere with her.
HAs sage tea or sage worked for you Tammatha!
