There is a very good homemade milk replacer recipe on the articles page. Don't forget to deworm the doe tomorrow or the next day. The stress of kidding makes dormant worms active. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

We just had about 12 nannies kid at the same time and almost all of them left their babies out in the field and refused to feed. We found that putting them in a smaller pen together, away from the herd, helped them bond much better and they learned each other that way. If that doesn't do it, then you have to milk the momma and bottle feed. Good Luck! |

Keep trying to hold her and see if they can nurse. Let her really smell them if she will (put some of her milk on them too). It may take a lot of patience. Otherwise you'll have to bottle feed them. Because she wanted nothing to do with them in the beginning and then being away from them for a period of time while at the vets means most likely she will not accept them. I've heard you can put a sheet over them (lightly)let her find them and she may possibly accept them from there. People sometimes do that to get another Doe to accept ophaned kids. Good Luck! |

I held the babies up to nurse and then I milked out about twenty five ounces and fed it to the babies. I did not take the babies with me to the vet because she wouldn't have anything to do with them. |

You need to hold the Doe and try to let the babies nurse. They need the colostrum right away. Did you take the babies with you to the vet? Have they nursed at all? |
