Is the swelling soft and squishy? with gentle but firm pressure can you push it back in? This would make me think hernia. Or is it fairly firm to very firm and feel solid like a ball under the skin? This would make me think abscess. A hernia can become strangulated, become painful and cause a part of her intestinal tract to die.

You may want a vet to look at it hernias are usually fairly easy to repair.

Are you sure she is pregnant? She should be showing something of an udder by now (maybe it is the angle of the photo) and her body shape doesn't look pregnant.

Does can be brutal with those horns. If you have the option of leaving them all loose with access to the barn there will be lots less fighting. or pen them 2 to a stall. With only 2 they can keep an eye on each other and not get blindsided by a doe they weren't watching.

It could be a hernia or an abscess. This location is on that would be suspect for CL. You can attach a picture to a post here or click on my name to send me a picture to my private email.

I have a nanny who is due between June 7-17 ish with a strange grapefruit sized growth on her left side just ahead of her back leg about midway down her side. I have seen a bloated goat and this doesn't look the same. It is not really soft and it came up quickly (over a day). She is still eating but does seem a little depressed. She runs with 9 other nannies during the day and 4 nannies in her stall at night. Last night I kept her in her own stall with the monitor on. Please help. I am afraid it might be a hernia or hemotoma. I can e-mail pictures if that helps. THANKS!!
