Sounds like she may have worms. Many goats with severe parasites will quit eating grain first then hay. Check her lower inner eyelids by gently pulling it down with you thumb. They should be deep rosy or salmon pink. If they are pale pink or white she is anemic from worms. I recommend deworming with Ivomec (or a generic) Injectable for Cattle at 1 cc per 25 pounds given orally. Give this once a day for 2 days. Repeat in 2 weeks. You can give B Complex Injectable by SQ injection once a day to help increase appetite and sooth her damaged gut. You can also give Goat Nutridrench, liquid Geritol (the adult dose) or RedCell for Horses (half the horse dose) once ot twice a day to help rebuild the iron in her blood and provide extra vitamins.

HI,
I have a 4 yr Oberhasli doe that we purchased a few months ago. When we first got her she ate OK (1 1/2 cups a milking)but was used to eating 4 cups a milking at her old home. Latley she wont eat any grain and very little hay, she will only eat grass. Her milk production went from 3/4 gal a milking to 1 1/2 cups a milking. She has been just waisting away. We decided to dry her up because of her sever weight loss. She has also been very weak, she cant even get up on the milking station anymore. She was going crazy for her milk that we let her have on occasion to try to help her gain weight. Please help us figure out what is wrong with her. Milk Fever? This is our first year with goats so we have no experience with goat problems.
Thanks
Jenny
