Thank you for all your help in the past few days but I am sorry to say that she passed away shortly after I posted the message. |

Is she bloated? If her belly is tight give 1 to 1 tablespoons of vegetable oil, hold her so her front end is higher than her rear and deeply massage her left abdomen to help break up the gas and help her burp. She may have polio, a thiamin deficiency often caused by diarrhea and coccidia. The only effective treatment is giving thiamin (Vitamin B 1) at fairly high doses at frequent intervals. You can use Fortified B Complex injectable which has 100 mg/cc of thiamin and give 1 cc per 20 pounds by SQ injection every 2 to 4 hours for the first 24 hrs. Then give 2 to 3 times a day for 5 to 7 days. If you have to use the regular B COmplex injectable give 1 cc per 2-3 pounds on the same schedule. Any extra B vitamins are easily eliminated in the urine. Be sure she stays hydrated, either bottle feed her, use a stomach feeding tube or drench her if she can swallow with water, formula (milk) or Pedialyte. Call your vet.
