Toxoplasmosis "Toxo" will also cause early to late term abortions. Unfortunatly there is no treatment, imunity is developed but only lasts about 2 years. Cats are a big carrier specifically "teenage" or "yearling" cats they use the hay/bedding for liter boxes and transmite it that way. The best way to determine what is causing your abortion storm is to have the placenta tested as soon as possible after the abortion. |

The usual cause of late term abortion is a chlamydia infection. Give the ones who aborted and all other does oxytetracycline (LA 200 or Biomycin 200) at 1 cc per 30 pounds by SQ injection every other day for 3 treatments, also treat your buck(s) as this disease is often sexually transmitted. Burn or bury all dead kids and placentas and any contaminated bedding. You can have a kid and placenta tested to be sure this is what you are dealing with. |

This is our first kidding, and this week 3 Boer nannies had their kids prematurely, all 7 kids have been stillborn. We don't know where to begin in finding the cause. Could it be the feed, well water.? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
