I would discontinue the Biomycin. Baytril is a very powerful antibiotic and should do what the Biomycin has not been able to do.

Some pinkeye infections can be very severe, the white spot you see is an ulcer, the angry red is a reaction of the eye tissue where it grows new blood vessels to the eye to get more germ fighting white blood cells to the site. When they are no longer needed they atrophy and go away. She may have a tiny white scar on her cornea for the rest of her life but it won't really affect her vision too much. I have an old buck like this with a rather large scar from pinkeye and he sees fine with that eye.

Since she is acting pretty normally, eating and drinking and being active I wouldn't give pain meds. Being in a darkened stall seems to really help with the pain. Most pain meds have their own set of drawbacks, like causing digestive ulcers, and should only be used if the goat REALLY needs them.

Her one eye is clearing. I can see the pupil. The other is horribly red with a small patch of white. I took her to the vet this morning and he prescribed an injection of baytril today with another to follow tomorrow. I was also given vetrachloracin to put in her eyes 4 times a day. I forgot to ask about whether I should discontinue the biomycin injections after tomorrows baytril injection. Maggie any thoughts on this. I'm really worried about this one eye. I have her isolated and am keeping her in a small dark stall so she can find water and feed easily.
The eye looks so painful. Is there anything that I can give her to relieve the pain? She is eating and wants to be active although she can't see.

Please check eyes closely for Entropion. There is a possibilty that this could be the problem.

This is a condition of the eye in which the lower lid or both eyelids are turned inward, causing the eyelashes to rub the cornea. This can occur in one or both eyes. It will irritate the eye and make it appear as a bad pink eye condition. One of my kids was born with this condition this season and it sure fooled me to thinking it was pink eye.

As for the Biomycin, I always give it SQ and never any lumps. You may not be penetrating entirely thru the skin thick layer. I usually find loose skin behind a shoulder, pinch and lift the skin with a couple of fingers, then to make sure is good pocket of space to hit under the skin, I first poke with my finger at the target injection site.
I read that eye treatment powders like the Puffer can cause irritation. I guess is sort of like getting dust in your eyes. I keep a tiny tube of Neobacimyx ointment for treating eye problems. It is the only thing my vet recommended. It is somewhat expensive though.

Pink eye can take several days to run its course no matter what you treat it with.

Well it certainly can't hurt, but don't overdo as you can overdose on A. Sure will shine up her coat too.

Maggie,
Thank you for replying. It sounds like I am taking the right course of action. I just need to be patient. I'll stay with the ointment in the eye and the sq injections. Would additional vitamin A as in Wheat Germ oil help any?

The oxytet causes quite a bit of muscle scarring (i know a show buck that was ruined from too many oxytet injections in his thigh muscles), if this goat is ever destined for the meat market give the injections SQ. Be sure you are getting all the way under the skin with the injections, there will be less lumping that way. The biomycin really stings the eye (same as when you inject) and the terramycin ointment is basically the same thing without the sting. Once the eye clouds over it can take a week or more to improve.

That puffer works better for the pinkeye infection in cattle (caused by a different bacteria).

This is the third day of treatment. I have been placing terramycin ointment in both eyes twice a day with a squirt first of biomycin. The one eye is very clouded over and red. I have been giving her biomycin at 1cc/ 20lbs SQ. The SQ lumps have gone down minimally, so I gave this mornings injection in the muscle.
I have NFZ Puffer. I have not used it to treat her, since in the past it didn't really seem to help.
