One of my year-old Nubian wethers developed what looked like a teenager's HUGE pimple, red but covered with hair. It was hard and well-defined. Yesterday I wiped down with alcohol and it exuded white, not smelly pus and blood. I removed all the infection and applied Furazon topically. This morning I washed the site with warm water and a surgical soap, then shaved the lump, and palpated (doesn't move) to remove contents (blood only). Any ideas what this is? Not seen on any other goats in the herd. Barn renovation under way and this guy is always adventurous. Maybe a splinter or other foreign object? |
