Is the eye filmed over? If so this IS pinkeye. You can give oxytetracycline (LA 200, Biomycin 200) at 1 cc per 30 pounds by SQ injection once a day to help it clear up faster. Using a triple antibiotic eye ointment along with the oxytet injections 2 to 3 times a day will help even more. Do not mix penicillin with either the oxytet or the eye ointment (which has oxytet in it). Penicillin and oxytet cancel each other out. Goats can go completely blind with pinkeye but most recover, if not completely then nearly so.

If you can isolate the one with pink eye you can likely limit the spread. Disinfect all fencelines where they stick their heads through, hay feeders, feed troughs and water toughs with a bleach solution. Watch for any goats that have watering eyes or who are beginning to squint and start the oxytet injections. You can often nip it in the bud by beginning treatment right away.
