There doesn't seem to be much pain, but it does seem to take away alot of the joy of life for them. While he is still here be sure he is not carrying around alot of extra flab (since he is less active), be sure he is free of worms and has several comfortable places to lay in to watch the world and a well bedded place to sleep. You can delay this for a good while, the surgery to cut the most affected nerve is pretty simple and returns them to near normal for awhile. You just have to be very aware it will come back and then it will be time. Email me privately and I will give you the number of a vet at our local vet school that can talk to you or your vet about doing the surgery if you would like. I know about the boys being favorites, I just adore my bucks, all 13 of them! My heart goes out to you and Billy Gruff. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

My little Billy Gruff is now laying most of the day at his food,he doesnt seem interested in what the others are doing. He enjoys me holding his head in my lap and talking to him.I know now for sure (thanks to you Maggie that he has spastic paresis)Do you think there is pain with this disorder and do you think I am just prolonging his suffering by putting off euthanasia.I must make a decision this weekend. My heart is breaking, he is so cuddly and such a stud muffin and although I love all my kids,He is my favorite,,,,wouldnt you know it !!! |
