This could be a false pregnancy but it is more likely your doe has cystic ovaries. This often causes a doe to lactate, to cycle more frequently than every 21 days or so and to act bucky or agressive. You can give hormone shots to try to correct the problem but it often returns. I wouldn't milk her, right now her teats have a natural waxy plug protecting her from bacteria entering the udder. She could just be a precocious milker too. Dairy does are just very genetically programmed to lactate and many from heavy milking lines will milk at least some with never being bred.

I have a 2 year old nubian-toggenburg doe that has started to lactate without being bred. She, as well as 3 other does, are all kept with 5 wethered males as they are all pets. I have double checked the 2 recently acquired wethers and they are definatly atrophied. I have no doubts that she is not pregnant. She's not getting bigger, and she showed signs of being in heat just last week and she NEVER allows the males to touch her. She did the same thing last year with getting bagged up but no milk. What should I do? Do I need to milk her to avoid mastitis or just let it cycle out? Thanks for any help! Annie
