SOunds like you are doing all you can. Tube feed small amounts every hour keep the kid propped up on its chest. You will have to stimulate it to poop and maybe give enemas to help with that (what goes in must come out...) Be very careful about heating pads or heat lamps as they really dehydrate these premies. The biggest concern is hydration and whether teh lungs are mature enough to process oxygen at this time. A vaporizor may help for humidity. Most premies don't make it unless they are less than one week premature. But the eyes would be open then. Does this one have hair? Teeth? Can it move or lift its head? brought a doe home last week from people who are getting divorced. doe was real skinny and only 11 months old. not good.. she gave birth an hour ago. she is doing well however this kid is not fully developed hooves arent formed and eyes arent opened. i am taking any comments you can offer on what to do. i am gonna try to tube it some collostrum from another doe of mine. and i will try to slpi in some nutri drench. i will give it a vit-b and a 1/2 cc of bo-ce. but i would love some other help if you got some. |
