Can't hurt to treat for milk fever/ketosis. You can give CMPK gel or liquid (get this at the feed store) and Magic solution (1 part Molasses, 1 part vegetable oil, 2 parts Karo Corn Syrup mix with a little warm water to thin it some) give 2 to 3 ounces 2 to 3 times a day. Be sure the kids are nursing. For pain you can give Liquid Children's Motrin at 1 cc per 10 pounds. Lots of goats poop laying down, mine all do at night... If she is in a stall you might encourage her to go outside. Lots of does get really bored in a stall and do nothing but lay around... Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

This morning the babies seemed fine. walking around and playing, but mom would not get up on her own. I stood her up and that lasted about 2 minutes before she layed back down. She is still panting but growning a lot less. She also pooped while laying down. I have never seen her do that before. Is she just tired? Should I be worried? It doesnt feel right. |
