If the tube was labeled fore horses you needed to give 2 to 3 times the horse dose by weight to effectively deworm goats. If you did not go back and deworm again. You can use CoRal Livestock powder or a synergized Delice Pour on when for delicing when using Strongid. For using the ivermectin it is 3 times the horse, cattle or sheep dose by weight for deworming goats. I use the Ivermecin Injectable for Cattle and Swine and give 1 cc per 25 pounds but give it orally. With either of these you MUST be sure to give enough, if you underdose you are doing more harm than good, creating super worms. Both are very safe you can give an extra cc or two to be sure you are giving enough. Ivermectin given orally is somewhat effective for lice but I still use a pouron Delicer even though I use Ivermectin orally. I was still seeing some lice when giving ivermectin orally.

The most current recommendations is to NOT rotate dewormers but to use one for at least a year or for as long as it is effective before switching. When using 2 different dewormers the parasites become resistant to both of them at the same time.

my question is, my vet told me to worm my goats spring and summer with strongid and fall and winter with Ivemection. so, he got hurt (vet) and I can't ask how much to give in cc's. I got strongid and used the tube and broke it down. the tube says 22cc per 100lbs.. and I weighted all the goats and used this scale. 11cc-50,5.5cc-25, 2 3/4-for 12.5lbs.is this close to right? I wormed all my goats yesterday with strongid. I know that Ivermec works good for lice, but can I give them something else for lice that works just as good? because I just used the strongid? for worming?or can I give them the ivermec too? I have all pygmes. thank you
