All depends what is on the other side, and how motivated a goat wants to get there. Some young adults can get over a 4 foot height and more quickly than your post can be responded to.

A 4 ft chain link should work for a temporary pen. However, i would not recomend using this as a permanent solution. Chainlink fencing has a tendency to stretch and sag as goat lean and stand on it.

I am getting goats in about 2 hours and i need to know quickly if a 4 foot tall chain link fence will hold full sized meat goats.
