I'd say the big belly is from the overendulging on good hay. It takes the rumen bacteria a while to adjust to a new feedstuff.
Just a quick question - on the LA200 : you said you gave them one shot? When ever I use it, its a 3 shot treatment - one dose given every other day for a total of 3 treatments. Sometimes you can give a loaded dose on the first injection. Also, if the snots don't seem to respond to La-200, you may want to call the vet to get another antibiotic such as nuflor, or excenell. Its not good to let snots go too far because the fear of pnenomonia. I had a buck kid that progressed to it and it just started as a runny nose.
I figured, hell, I get colds all the time and they run their course, but this didn't and it went full blown.
I just had a thought also - I assume that your weather has changed for the cooler? Is everyone pooping ok, and still on feed. I was almost wondering if the goats are on pasture and possible consumed a weed that was hit by frost? Some plants when frosted turn toxic, just wondering if that could be a lead for you loss yesterday. Deepest regrets for you and your son.
Keep taking temps, and keep us posted. I want to say that goats are about 102ish..
