I have just added a new page (and pictures) to the Poisonous Plants list - thanks to Jodi Waits for sending the information - sorry Jodi, the pictures that were in the file you sent would not open for some reason - I found some other pictures that I used in the meantime.
Here is a direct link to the page for those who want to view it:

Poke is one of those plants that I was not really up to date on. I'm sure that everyone has heard the song called "Poke Salad Annie"? I think it was originally sung by Jerry Reed. Anyway, I had always considered that "poke" was used in salads in the south. I had no idea that it was poisonous.
We have quite a bit of poke growing here. Right next to our central AC unit outside incidentally! Every year it grows a few feet tall. Every year I yank it out and throw it to the goats or sheep - have never seen any of them go stark raving mad over it though they will sometimes eat it. Guess from now on it goes on the burnpile.
The other weed that we have growing in abundance is sassafras. I need to check on this one to see if it has any toxic properties. I have heard of people drinking sassafras tea so I'm wondering. Course then I had hear of poke salad too. What's an old California boy know about those southern dishes anyway? LOL
If any of you would like to research various plants and have me add the information, I'll be happy to do so. I will also take requests for certain plants that you might need to have researched. I do know that while the Poisonous Plants page is fairly large and extensive, it is a continued "work in progress" and will always be updated as I get various information.
Best regards,
Gary
