Have any of you had this experience with your dogs. I am weaning some dam raised baby goats. I have them in a separate pen from their mamas except to let them out once a day to nurse on the does. Lily, our LGD, sees the babies coming to nurse on the mamas and two of the mamas are uncomfortable with the babies nursing and are walking away from the little aggressive nursers. Lily sees this and is grabbing the little kids by a hind leg and keeping them away from the doe? The mamas are then getting upset because the babies are screaming and the does are butting Lily to let go of their babies, but she thinks she is doing right and grabs the other baby. I yell NO at Lily and she'll stop, but then when it happens again, she grabs them by the leg again. THese babies were born and raised with her in the pen and she did nothing like this before. One doe accepts her kids willingly and Lily does not drag those babies around. It is an odd thing. I would like to know exactly what she is thinking, but I do think that she is thinking she is helping out her does. Let me know what you guys think.Dalice
