West Nile Virus

Amber Waves Pygmy Goats Elastrator

Posted by Deborah on August 10, 2002 at 08:19:39:

I have a Boar goat that was acting fine yesterday when I fed them. Then last night he got diarreah and was off to himself. I gave him some Pepto Bismo and checked on him throughout the night. This morning, I checked on the herd and I saw him back in the pasture with the other goats. Then I went out and checked on him again this morning and he was dead. I have already given my horses a vaccination for west nile virus, and am wandering if maybe the mosquitos got to the goats.
What are the signs of West Nile Virus in goats? I have 50 goats and want to know what to look for? I live in Houston Texas, and many horses have died from it. Thanks for your input.
