I had a doe tested for CAE and it seems like it ran about 20.00. There are cheaper ways of doing it if you can draw blood, you can send it to a lab your self. I would have to ask a friend here locally she knows how to do it and I am considering having my herd tested. It cost about 4.00 per animal. If you are going to test for CAE, I would consider testing the mother doe. Since that would be the way the kids would have gotten it you would know how many of your goats were exposed. The problem is that not all carriers of CAE have symptoms. I myself am going to be more vigilant with raising my animals on CAE prevention as we are getting into higher quality animals and hope to be able to market them at higher prices. Its a game to play I know, but we are going to try it for a while at least. Good luck with your doelings. I have been following your posts. Dalice
