Hi Leah
Just my opinion, but I believe that a goat will take what it needs. I leave my mineral mix out free choice, so the goats can munch on it when they wish. I find that sometimes they wolf it down, and other times it goes ignored for days. I think that their body will attempt to satisfy it's needs by eating what is needed. I use a mineral mix made for cattle. Good luck.

PS....I am also a member of the idiot club here. Actually I think that the problem is that we are more educated on our goats than the salesman. In order for them not to look stupid, they try and use reverse psychology and try to make us feel like we're the ones who don't know what we are talking about. I usually stand my ground, and have them just give me what I want, or walk out of the store. That leaves them speechless.
:)
