I think you handled the situation perfectly. I am glad for you that the neighbors are cooperative. I had a friend last year that had her pygmy goats mauled. One killed outright, the others maimed. Her neighbors wouldn't take responsibility. She took them to small claims court hoping that would make them do something. She got a technical "win", but the people never paid anything and were still able to keep their dogs. They actually caught the dog in the pen with their goats so there was NO question who the culprits were. That is my worst nightmare. We have our Gr. Pyr. in our main pen, but we have two more pens without dog protection. I say again, you did good!!!Glad it wasn't worse for you.
