It's sounds like your farm is much like mine. I'll tell you what I've found and that is the reason why you find the newborns in those peculiar places, is so the predators won't get them. I've searched over the years for little ones only to find them sleeping in the most unusual places. And yes, I have my usual goats get caught in the fence. They never learn, do they? But, you got to love them.
