Just remember that medicated feed is only for prevention and will not cure Cocci if a goat has it. My personal opinion is that it is not enough of a preventative treatment though. Again, if you have a big area for your goats, and you are moving them from field to field, I would say yes, that would be enough. But if you keep your goats in the same place all the time, I would not chance it, but that is just me. I also am not one to medicate if I don't have to, and the adult goats really do not need the medicated feed, unless they are new to the herd or are very stressed and you feel that there is a reason for them to have prevention.

I also am not too crazy about putting the treatment in the water either. For one, even though the babies are drinking water, they are not consuming enough, also there is no way to tell how much the adult goats are getting.

Your best bet is to try and catch the kids and keep them in a confined area for 5 days until treatment is complete if you cannot catch them to do it daily.

I hope this message does not sound like I am knocking anyone or their way of doing things, because I am not (smile)..We had one very bad cocci experience last year, and I just would hate to see anyone have to go through what we did, especially if any of these goats are pets, or your children's pets.

Albon is quite expensive, We usually buy the packets of Sulfa Dimethox from jeffers and mix it in a quart jar, with water, it is not as good tasting to the goats as the Albon, but if you have a problem w/that, you can always add a little Cayro (spelling??) Syrup to it, or if you are bottle feeding your kids, add it straight in their bottle.

Just my 2 cents (smile)
