Thank you for responding. I know that you have already volunteered to help people with web pages and I very much appreciate that and I am sure many of the people that you have helped also appreciate your help. That aspect probably doesn't take up a whole lot of time does it? Shamefully I have to admit, I haven't really checked on the "Members Pages" for awhile now.
The main two things that are in dire need of attention are the Picture Show and the Articles. Both I must admit are rather intense; for example - the Picture Show entails receiving pictures, either from the Internet, from the GoatWorld Web Drop Box, or by email. Then each picture "ideally" should be edited to meet a 400 pixel width format (quite often I get much larger pictures like say, 1200 pixels wide, and they need to be reduced, or, smaller pictures that need to be imposed on a black background that is 400 pixels wide).
Then, I try to put a small copyright disclaimer on each picture before adding it to the show - the one and only reason I do this is to protect the picture from being used by others, specifically, magazines and publications - suddenly "such and such's" picture ends up in an art book or publication and no credit is given to the originating source.
From there, each individual picture goes onto its own separate page complete with a small paragraph or sentence or two of text, including the person(s) who sent the picture for inclusion. This part is basically easy. It only entails a few lines of editing and typing. Then that HTML page is uploaded via FTP (we talked about this briefly a few months back I think).
Of late, I have been very wary of receiving pictures via email for security and virus reasons. And also, quite often I get links to pictures that don't exist. So I think downloading from the GoatWorld server is the most secure method.
If you are interested in working on this, please let me know and perhaps we can set up a time to talk and I can go into further details. Or you are always welcome to find some other area that you can make your own personal niche. At this point, I'm open to any suggestions that you may have. I know you do great work and can be trusted so I am certainly glad that you have offered your help.
