Hi Mary,
I am here. I just haven't had time to be on goatworld. It is spring and my four children are keeping me crazy busy right now. Finishing up school projects and starting with 4H projects. Our fair here is the first week after the 4th of July so we have all that going.
My old cow is a miniature Jersey of unknown age. She is heavy with calf and the calf is on one side. If she gets stuck on that side she can't get up and lays there with all 4 legs up and gets bloated. She developed a sore on her hip bone so we are treating that. We are hoping to get a good little calf out of her and then retire her. She is the poster child for an ugly old cow. She is very little though at 38 inches tall. Her name is Liberty so if everyone could think good thoughts for her I would appreciate it. We don't know when she is due as she was pasture bred, but I feel the calf kicking about.
My Emma is still holding on too. She is not hugely bagged up but very large belly wise and grunting uncomfortable.
Sorry so long winded....Dalice
