Hi Helene, If I remember right isn't Iris Lamancha (sp?). Even if not most of the goats I have when nursing kids or a kid will loose weight, most of there nutrition is going into making milk. If she is not running a fever and doesn't seem off I would think she is fine. Our Boers do the same thing when nursing kids they just look so thin. As soon as the kids are weaned off or she dries up she will put the weight back on, because she is not milking. My grandpa used to say if you can hang your coat on her hip then she's a good milker, you know how them old timers are! Hope this helps you some.
