LOL..Ours have always layed brown eggs as well. We started out w/the 4-H chicks with my son..so they are the black sex links. They lay some good size brown eggs, a lot double yokers too. Then we had some of the little bantoms..and they lay the tiny white eggs..and it looked weird getting the white eggs. The bantoms would sit on the brown eggs though, the sexlinks never did. We now only have 5 chickens left, we got rid of them all last year when we tore down the coup. Here shortly Mike will be finishing the barn extensions so I can get back to having chickens again, I miss the country eggs, and my birds..we have been lucky though and we can either buy them from a neighbor, or a guy where Mike works gives them to us. My family will not eat store bought eggs period!!

Anyway, my son has a book on all the different types of chickens and had it since he started w/the chickens 4 yrs ago. I have always wanted the ones that layed those different colored eggs. We haven't decided yet, but everyone else is leaning towards dominecors (spelling??) though..So I just may get out voted..
