Well when the sheep is bigger than you are it's not easy. However it is easier than milking the crazy Lamoncha X doe she is a nut job. I didn't realize that sheep teats go off to the side not down like a goat. So this brings to mind HOW does the milk go down if the teats go out????? Also at first it is strange as your hand get really slimy I think there must be a lanolin gland or something neat the bag. By the way what smells worse than a wet hound dog????? A wet sheep. LOL and I know that one first hand. OH your cat milking question .....a Suffolk would be like milking a cat the Jacobs have even smaller bags like milking rabbits, horned rabbits, Jackalopes....YES I have milked rabbits(not Jackalopes) not sure why but I did. Does there have to be a reason for the things I do???????? NO it's an artist thing that and I lost my mind this week, spring break and the boys survived. And yes I do need the milk Lambs are Sheep and therefor need sheep milk. Goat milk may do in a pinch but lambs are not goats. Also I have never had good luck with the replacers Lamb replacer does not seem to do a good job no matter how much money I spend on it. Right now I am giving the lambs a mixture of sheep and goat milk. They drink most of a soda bottle 3 times a day, half goat half sheep. I have determined that Suffolk sheep are not milk sheep, and yes there is such a thing. OOOOOO I can't stand milk and I tried Suffolk milk it's not bad as far as milk goes, I didn't have to gag it down like the LaMoncha milk that I later found out was so bad probally because she was running with the buck. GROSS. And it's not nearly as bad as fresh cows milk, that I don't gag down but it's still gross, could be why I didn't grow to be 5' tall. Gotta go Dr. apt in the am I get to watch him frown and sigh about the things I do on the farm IF he had his way I would never ride again and would sell the farm and move to the city....NOT GONNA HAPPEN I tell him just fix the back the best you can and I'll try to be careful. He doesn't believe me anymore. I cant figure why? Did I mention the sheep got out twice today the second time they went down a lane, Goathater turned the back and two ran right for me. It was move and loose them both or decide which one to grab. The 2yr ewe(small horns) or the 2yr ram(big horns), I caught the ewe in mid jump the ram ran off. We finally caught them when Goathater said whats the chance they go in by themselves I said none and they did all 4 of them. For the record my lovely little goats stood by and ate, they stayed out of trouble and still Goathater likes sheep better. See yall later have a good one. BBBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Oh Dalice MMOOOOO
