Sorry Linda to hear about your doe and the loss of her baby.. I hope things go well concerning the c-section. I will keep her in my prayers and thoughts.. Update when you can. My April Jean is a bit better this morning, but still will not eat grain and doesn’t want to move much . I did put a goat coat on her last night and her temp this morning was 102.2. I took it off since its 73 degress here today. I have continued with the nutri-drence and the probios this morning and will give the antibiotic and vitamin B complex again this afternoon when I can get some help given them. I also got a cup of the magic down her and a ½ cup of orangejuice using a turkey baster. Her plumbing is working and her poop is very soft, but not like diarrhea. Her gums are still not pink, but might not be as white as last evening. I looked for the lice, but I didn't or could see them if they are there. I will go ahead and give her 1cc of ivermectin SQ this evening or should I wait since I did worm her orally yesterday with the 3cc already? She will not eat the best hay I have so I went and found a bale of the stemiest hey I could find in the barm loft and she is picking out the briers and stems in it. I told her if that’s what it takes to get her to eat then to eat it girl. Don’t see any harm in it as long as she is eating. The stems and briers should help keep her rumen working anyway. Thanks Linda F and Gary for the reply’s and advice she just might make it, but its still to early to know for sure. Sandy & kids
