Hi Sandy and Linda,

I agree - the white gums sound like worms. I've not yet much call for the blood sucking lice but it is good to know about giving Ivermectrin SubQ. Is this goat eating anything at all? Linda made a good call on the MAGIC but the one thing I would watch for is her appetite. When the temperature does get that low, any food that you may tube feed will end up sitting in the rumen (because as Linda mentioned), the non-vital body organs begin to shut down and the rumen is included in those non-vital organs. The food or liquid might sit there and ferment, creating more harmful bacteria. Also, with this weather the way it has been of late, it very well could be early signs of interstitial pneumonia. I would closely monitor her temperature and try to bring it up as close to normal as possible through heatlamps, goat coat, etc. But you don't want to get her too hot to where she will dehydrate. See if she will eat some fruit too. Please keep us posted on her condition.

Best regards,

Gary
