I had read before that green potatoes are toxic and was tossing them (but I couldn't remember why), I looked it up (concentrations of solanine) and found that there's even more in potatoe sprouts.
Over the last couple weeks some of mine have started sprouting & I've been giving them to my guys.

Don't know how to give baking soda to them. Tried 1/3 box in 1 gal. warm water this morning, they all sniffed but wouldn't try any (actually got some very odd snorts). To strong? I'll try a weaker solution later.

Thanks to everyone that responded hopefully I've found the problem.

I really hoping I didn't take these orphans in only to kill them with kindness and not knowing enough.
