Past experiance tells me it depends on the buck, horns seem to make a differance as well. We had a very large Nubian that had to be kept away from all stud animals he would go out of his way to fight with even our rams. The fights would not end until one of them got bloody and was chased over the fence. At this time we have 3 bucks, 2 with horns one w/o. They are 2 fainters (with horns) and a Boer (w/o horns). Now my Boer is very small (maybe stunted maybe bad buy) so they are all about the same size and age. The Boer seems to be dominant over the others even though he has no horns. They are also in with the ladies as we are trying to re-breed, we lost our first kid crop to Toxo. Even when the girls come into heat they don't seem to fight only spare a bit. But the Boer still comes out with the lady by his side. Funny thing the girls seem to like him better. Anyway I know this doesn't really give you an answer just some insite hope it helps. Dalice has a number of bucks seems like she keeps hers in pairs but I don't know for sure. Hopefully she will put her 2cents in if not I will ask her in the am. Good luck. Karen
