Mary ,The secret is in the grain - when in training the girls get grain only on the milk stand- a little tray is built out of wood up front. when she learns that is where she gets her she will hop right up- now the milking part is all in the individual goat - my windy, a first timer, never looked back to see what I was doing. Now june bug, thats another story ,This is a goat from hell. I cant tell you how many bruse' she has put on me and I have tried every thing from warm packs on her udder to tying her back legs to milk stand. I finally just gave up on her. Some goats dont mind if they have grain while your milking. but most will kick over the milk or worse yet put thier foot in the milk pan. I've only been milking for 4 years and I found you have to work out the problem with each and every one of them ,Now I do have some old timers and thier a dream to milk.I'll look for some more pictures for you. Maybe I can e- mail you a hand drawn picture of a milk stand with a stantion type head holder. Just remember I cant draw....goat mom
