Hi Katy,
That is definitely a good tip for everyone. I have considered adding Vitamin C to the GoatWorld store, but with all things considered and how busy I am with everything, I have just not had time to pursue this.
One thing I might mention as an alternative to feeding a powder or liquid form of vitamin C, you may want to check with your local supermarket as to what they do with the fruit they can't sell. I've gotten a few really good deals on over-ripened apples, etc., and feed these to my goats as well as oranges and other fruits. Grapefruit as well.
You'll get a kick out of seeing the goats faces when they realize that they are getting the real thing - especially in winter when few fruits are available on the pasture. I guess I am a firm believer in giving them as natural of a feed program as possible and try to limit how much powder or liquid synthetics I give them. But all in all, synthesized and manufactured vitamins are better than no vitamins at all.
Best regards,
Gary
