As most of you know I raise large meat type goats. The dairy goats I do have were bought mainly because of their size. Because of how big they are my boys have broke almost all of my does to ride and even the Boer buck. It's getting close to kidding time so the boys have been told not to ride the goats anymore, but I do let them chase them around for exercise (the goats and the boys). Last summer I sold two does to an old man who had two bucks. He got tired of the goats and gave me back all four. Now the two bucks are fainters and one is a good fainter. So on with the funny part. Caleb my six year old loves to play with the goats so of course thats where he went when I sent them outside. I watched from the kitchen window as he climed the fence and dropped down to the goat pen. All the goats just stood waiting they know what comes next. Caleb lets out a huge yell and lunges for the goats. Of course they all run , except for the big fainter. This is soo funny. The fainter just falls over!! Flat out on his side, legs up in the air and all. Well Caleb has no clue that this goat is supposed to do that he just stands there and looks around thinking he killed the thing. Finally after a minute or two the goat gets up. Caleb yells and runs again, and the goat falls ove again. At that point Caleb left the goat pen probally thinking he was going to get in trouble or something. I can't stop laughing about it the look on his face was something else. I am thinking maybe I will keep the fainters just for amusement. : )
