When my girls were heavy with kids I would go out to the barn after they bedded down for the night and just sit with them real quite and watch the kids kicking inside all of them.. It was so neat... I did that just about very night waiting on the girls to deliever. I know my girls got tired of me looking at them..But I wasn't going to miss a minute of it.. I had one in 1995 that kidded and 2 weeks before she did she wasn't showing it at all, and about 3 days before she kidded she dropped her milk and had a udder about the size of 1/2 gal jug, that was her first time freshening, so yes they can fool ya. Just when U least expect kids boom there they are..Enjoy every minute of it.. I don't know how I could be more excited then if i was having my own child. P.S. I don't want my mom to hear me say that at 40 years old, and childless..And she's the one that gets me a mothers day card and signs it from the kids.)
