Sandy,
My doe had dystocia. THe kid was trying to come out one leg only with head turned back Mama was a tiny nigerian doe allowing only fingertips in to try and move the kid. I knew the kid was alive because the leg was kicking. My preferred vet was off on her own maternity leave so I had to use someone else. THis man was like in slow motiion during the section. I knew the anesthesia was bad for the baby, but couldn't very well yell at him to hurry the blankety blank up. It was frustrating. After he pulled the baby out another vet was there and worked on her for a while to no avail. I was stuck holding the does head to keep her from choking on saliva during the procedure. As I said before the doe lived and I milked her. She tolerated the abdominal surgery just fine, a real trooper. She was not in labor long because I caught her in the early stages and knew we had trouble. It was Easter Sunday, a day I will never forget. Dalice
