I think you are right Linda. I heard that the weight tape was developed for dairy goats and does not apply to meat goats or crosses. I'm sure there is a tape out there for meat goats somewhere. It has something to do with the muscling and build of the specific goat.
The weights you listed Helene don't seem to far off though - well, that 11 month old 27 pound doe seems kind of small.
But one thing I've found - a goats weight can be deceiving. We've had a few goats that I swore weighed in excess of 150 pounds because they are mammoth like. Come to find out they only weighed about 80 - 100 pounds. I even questioned the auctioneer with the scale.
I'm going to search around and see what I can find on a weight tape for meat goats. There has to be one somewhere.
