Another possibility that crossed my mind today too was CAE. There are neurologial symptoms of rear leg paralysis, and the progressive weight loss. Still a big HMMMM.
I'm waiting for my Jeffers order to come in for my needles and syringes so I can pull some blood, get a CBC done along with a few other tests including a CAE one. If this order dosn't come soon I may barrow a vaccutainer from work and a few tubes. (I'm horrible with vaccutainers and cows...see how a goat will be).
He's eating well, gets around ok, is alert and hops on his rock - just "woozie" If this were listeria I think he would have been dead weeks ago when it all started, or the polio. No Blindness, no rapid weird movment, he just acts like he had one too many drinks. I've seen listeria in some sheep at work and they were down and dead with in 2 days. They would circle, stargaze and then finally collapsed. We tried teh Thiamine on them but it was too late. The wether did get alot of Vit B during his illness.
Another thought too was maybe during his illness he may have ran a high fever before I caught it and has a little bit of brain damage, or maybe the infection got into his CNS?
He looks alot better then he was a few weeks ago. The coat is starting to look better, and he's not sucked in.
I'll keep everyone posted on how the Ivormec treatment goes and work from there. Need to find the cure for Obi-Wan's "hangover."
