Boer goats?

I'm looking into meat goats and would like some ideas on personality, kidding, market, and things to watch for. I have a few dairy that are pets. Can't afford the high dollar gals, wondered about percentage and if they have many boer sales in the IA\MO.area. Is there a good market only in southern states? Are they as ornery as the dairy and like to have a play ground? At what age or weight do you sell the kids?
