Ohhh Lila, I feel for you, and the little goat. It is every goat lovers nightmare, to sell one of your beloveds, and find that they aren't getting the care that you gave them. Just makes your heart ache. I sold my first babies this summer. Before I advertised I made some rules. (1) I will only sell them in sets of two, (2)the perspective buyers come to view the goats, but they do not go home with them after the first visit. (3) I meet the people, give them instructions on how I have taken care of them...etc., and get to "feel the person out." (4) I always tell them that I have someone else interested, and that if the other person doesn't want them, that I will give them a call. Then, if I don't like the "feel" of the person, I just say, sorry the other person decided to take them. Sneeky, I admit, but then no hard feelings, and I don't have to tell the person...sorry, you didn't meet up to my qualifications for owning one of my goats.(smile). Call me overprotective, but it seemed to work with my first sale. I felt that they were going to a home where they would get the same treatment and love that I gave them.
