In Reply to: Banding Method - an email I received posted by GoatWorld on October 30, 2001 at 17:33:41:
I always take my little bucklings to the vet to be cut. He does not do any anesthesia. Just cuts and pulls and then sprays with a topical spray. I know this hurts them because they scream loudly during the actually cutting. I have seen banded animals and they do not scream like that with the banding. I was just taught in the beginning that the cut and pull method had less of a chance of infection and that is why I choose it. My vet only charges 3.00 so the expense is minimal.
