I actually thought about the kitty litter idea when I was putting the pine shavings down, and was wondering because I was not too thrilled about paying almost $10.00 per bag for pine shavings either. I am glad you posted that, because I just may give it a try.
The cardboard..I would think that it would get a lot wetter and smellier and maybe messier to pick up? Don't you think or is it working for you?
That feed you are talking about Chaffhaye, just curious on the cost. We pay about $6.00 for a bag of goat chow (The Co-Op's brand) and well I have to admit most of the hay we get is for free. My husband's uncle raises cattle and they have tons and tons of fields, so they roll their own hay, and we usually get from them. We do buy some good quality hay in square bails though on occasion and got a great deal the other day $2.50 per square bail.
