Oh Tom..you guys are sooo hooked..LOL..Goats are really the best and I wish you luck with them. You will have some fun with them too!!
Like Gary said, some prefer to dehorn, some prefer not too. We prefer to leave the horns but they can become a pain in the neck sometimes too. We have this one doe who constantly insists on sticking her head in the one hole in the woven wire she KNOWS she can't get her head out of because of her horns. She sits there and screams and screams..I don't know sometimes 2 and 3 times a day..but she only seems to do it when we are home..like she is looking for attention.
Although the horns are pointy..We have small kids too (the 2 legged kind) and so far no injuries. They can become dangerous, but I know many who do not dehorn and are fine. So it is a matter of preference really.
