Hi Cindy,

That's too funny! But don't feel too bad, my wife used to make these "goat treats" from time to time. Poor dear. I felt so sorry for her because she really is a good cook. My folks came to visit for the first time a few years ago and Pam decided she would make some cookies. She gets all the right ingredients and begins making them.

A couple of hours later they are done and my dad are hanging around the oven like the vultures we were. Out come these cookies which look good enough, but one bite and it was all we could do to put a dent in them. Now my dad, being pretty goodhearted about the whole situation said "no problem, got a glass of milk?" He gets the milk and dips the cookies to soften them.

As it turns out, almost all those cookies ended up as goat treats. Pam was so embarrassed and who could blame her? She went on about it for months. She was bound and determined to make a "good" batch of cookies but each one of them turned out the same. I hate to say it now but I was sneaking Oreos for my private reserve!

So what was the problem here? Well, one day I was cooking something up and needed a measuring cup. She had been using a rather large 8 cup measuring cup and for some reason I compared the volume in each and found out the the measuring cup she had been using was off by nearly three cup! Really.

Since then, she's switched measuring cups, the cookies are coming out right and the goats are eternally upset with her!

Best regards,
