New goat introduction

Hi, We just recently got an 8 month old male, about 35 lbs (was told he was a female!!) to be companions with our 6 yr old female, about 110 lbs. (Our other female just passed away, and we wanted a friend). The female is not too nice with him, chases the poor guy and he runs away. Any advice as to how to best get them to be friends. He's been with us 8 days now. He's very friendly w/ us so he is social. Thanks so much.
